CRAI SCOUT Activity Park

CRAI SCOUT Activity Park is situated in the former mining town of Newbridge in the South East Wales valleys which is famous for its picturesque views, brass bands and of course male voice choirs!

The Scout Activity park is set in approximately seven acres of open countryside which looks over the Cilonydd mountain and is an ideal site for campers who wish to do their own thing or go out and about visiting local attractions.




Toilet block with showers, campfire Circle with seating, chapel.  Room for 200 campers.


The lodge is situated at the top of the main camping field and houses the reception area, conference room, kitchen (fitted with stainless steel units), toilet & shower facility, and dormitories which can sleep 16 over 3 rooms 8 beds 6 beds and 2 beds.

With a view overlooking the main camping field the conference room is ideal for holding leaders meetings, organizing events, and can form the central base for running your camp.

Activity centre

A large 80x40ft heated building, containing a climbing/abseiling wall.  This is ideal for wet-weather activites, and is large enough for indoor pioneering projects.


On-site activities

Climbing and abseiling, Hawks and Angel Throwing, Archery, Small bore rifle shooting, Crate stack and high ropes, Kayaks and pioneering poles.

Off-site activities

Pen-y-fan pond (Class B1 water) is a short drive away from the site, as are a number of climbing crags, along with many places for hiking.
