The purpose of the EAAS is to prepare, train and accredit Assessors to assess Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition.

It is a one day, classroom based course.

Candidates will have experience of expeditions and navigation. They will also have competence in their chosen modes of transport (walking, paddling, sailing, biking or horse riding), and ideally hold an activity permit – if appropriate for their activity.

We are thrilled to announce we have now released our badge competition for All Wales Cub Fun Day 2019.

The competition is open to all Cubs and entries MUST be received on this form, no other format can be accepted.  There are some set rules which can be found on the entry form and we ask that you support us with these.

We are delighted to announce that Rhian Moore will shortly be joining Team UK as the newly appointed Chief Commissioner of Wales

Joining the Movement in 2012, Rhian’s Scouting journey is perhaps less conventional than most. Unlike 90% of our adult volunteers, she had no prior connections with Scouting (besides a brief childhood stint as a Brownie).

The ScoutsCymru vacancies site ( attracts more than 250 applicants annually.

The vast majority of these are adults who have a genuine interest in giving their time to support Scouting as section leaders, trustees and managers.

We want to place as many of these people into appropriate Scouting roles as possible. Each new volunteer helps us to offer Skills for Life to more young people across Wales.

With our current Chief Commissioner, Gareth Watson, coming to the end of his term in January 2019, we are now looking for a suitable successor.

The successful candidate will be excellent communicator, with the ability to form strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders. You will also have an empathy and understanding of leading and motivating volunteers.

New Area Commissioner – Cardiff and Vale

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Jordan as Area Commissioner for Cardiff & Vale. He will be starting the role on the 1st July 2018.

Julian has done a brilliant job as District Commissioner in Penarth and District since 2010 and I'm excited wait to see what he will bring to Cardiff & Vale as an Area Commissioner.
