  • Understanding the role of Expedition Supervisor, Assessor and other adults involved in the delivery of the DofE Award Expedition section
  • Understanding the process of Remote Supervision
  • Understanding the importance of emergency procedures
  • Understanding the Duty of Care held by the Supervisor.

A DofE expedition supervisor must have a good level of knowledge in the following areas:

This scheme is one of a series of courses throughout the United Kingdom, which will bring together delegates from Licensed Organisations, Assessor Networks and Approved Activity Providers.  The purpose of the EAAS is to prepare, train and accredit Assessors to undertake expedition assessments.

It starts with a one day course, after which the candidate has 2 years in which to become fully accredited.

Candidates will have experience of hiking, navigating and expeditions and ideally have a T1 or T2 permit.

The Event

Please note that the fifth All Wales Scouts Orienteering competition, which was cancelled last September because of insufficient entries, will now be held on Sunday the 12th May 2019. Although the competition is only open to Scouts and Explorer Scouts, we are opening the courses to Leaders and Helpers if they wish to give Orienteering a try, but obviously the entries will not be included in the competition although times will be given for to anyone completing a course.

Sat 8th Jun - Sat 8th Jun 2019

All Wales Cub Fun Day will take place on the 8th June 2019 at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.

The event will cost £15 for Cubs, £5 for Leaders children (Beaver age and above) and £3.50 for Young Leaders, this cost includes all activities on the day and the event badge.

There is no charge for Leaders or Helpers this year.

To attend your Cub Pack must have booked, you cannot just turn up on the day. Bookings can be made using the online booking system which can be found at https://booking.scoutscymru.org.uk/

Mon 22nd Jul - Fri 2nd Aug 2019

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will be taking place at the Summit Bechtel in West Virginia, USA between Monday 22nd July and Friday 2nd August.
