ScoutsCymru AGM 2017 - Kris Hall

Here is another review of the recent AGM by Kristofor Robyn Hall- Ellis, Flintshire District Youth Commissioner & Scout Cymru Award Panel Member.

Saturday the 14th October was the Scouts Cymru AGM and Celebration of Scouting. It was drizzling with rain as I made my way from Flintshire to Llandrindod Wells. The day was fantastic. First of all we had an amazing talk from Gareth Watson, Chief Commissioner of Wales, the theme of his talk was 'the story so far …' It was very interesting seeing what we have come from to now, he also spoke about the future from 2018 looking towards 2023.

Then we had the guest speaker Megan Hine, Scout Ambassador, whose talk was inspirational. I wish that more members of ScoutsCymru could have heard her talk about her experiences. I would like to thank her for what a fantastic talk she did.

We had the AGM which saw the new appointment of the Chair of the Board of Trustees, I would like to wish him all the very best of luck with this new role. It was a lovey AGM which was my first Wales AGM, which i found very interesting.

After the AGM we had a great lunch followed by an Explorer Belt presentation. This was amazing to watch, it was obvious that these Explorers/ Network members had so much fun and learned so much from their experiences they gained whilst in the Czech Republic, traveling 204.85 km over 10 days going into 3 countries. Well done to you all, you had such a fun time.

Then we come on to the first of many Celebration of Scouting Award Ceremonies. I am a member of the ScoutsCymru Award panel. I was asked to present the awards with the help of Megan Hine, this was an honour. I had the amazing job of sharing the details of the nominees and winers for each of the eight categories of awards. Having dyslexia, this was a big challenge for me but one that I wanted to achieve. It was a true privilege to be able to be part of the presentation of the first set of ScoutsCymru awards, from the 'Trustee Volunteer Award' to the 'Lifetime achievement award' each and every nominee deserved an award. I personally found it overwhelming to hear what has been going on in Scouting behind the scenes such as Peter Rowlands – 1st Brecon Scout Group devoting 70 years to scouting; David Jenkins – Pembrokeshire has been a Trustee member for over 25 years working tirelessly in his role and Llangollen District Team are described as truly devoted and inspirational to Scouting in Llangollen.

I would like to congratulate everybody who got an award and to those who go nominated. I would also like to thank Megan Hine again for helping with the presentation of the awards. I look forward to being on the ScoutsCymru award panel for next year and I am looking forward to all the nominations.

Dyma adolygiad arall o'r CCB diweddar gan Kristofor Robyn Hall- Ellis, Comisiynydd Ieuenctid Ardal y Fflint ac Aelod o Banel Gwobrau ScoutsCymru.

Dydd Sadwrn Hydref 14eg oedd CCB ScoutsCymru a Dathlu Sgowtio.  Roedd hi'n bwrw glaw mân wrth i fi deithio o Sir y Fflint i Landrindod.  Roedd y diwrnod yn wych.  Yn gyntaf cawson ni drafodaeth anhygoel gan Gareth Watson, Prif Gomisiynydd Cymru, a thema ei drafodaeth oedd 'y stori hyd yn hyn ...'.  Roedd yn ddiddorol iawn gweld lle rydyn ni wedi cyrraedd erbyn hyn, a siaradodd e hefyd am y dyfodol, o 2018 hyd at 2023.

Yna cawson ni'r siaradwr gwadd Megan Hine, Llysgennad Sgowtio, ac roedd ei thrafodaeth yn ysbrydoledig.  Hoffwn i fod mwy o aelodau ScoutsCymru wedi gallu clywed ei thrafodaeth am ei phrofiadau.  Hoffwn i ddiolch iddi am ei thrafodaeth anhygoel.

Cawson ni'r CCB a welodd penodiad newydd i Gadair Bwrdd yr Ymddiriedolwyr.  Hoffwn i ddymuno pob lwc iddo yn y rôl newydd hon.  Roedd yn CCB hyfryd a oedd yr un cyntaf i fi ac a ddarganfyddais yn ddiddorol iawn.

Ar ôl y CCB cawson ni ginio gwych a ddilynwyd gan gyflwyniad am y Gwregys Fforio.  Roedd hwn yn anhygoel i'w wylio ac roedd yn amlwg bod yr aelodau Sgowtiaid Fforio / Rhwydwaith hyn wedi cael cymaint o hwyl a dysgu cymaint o'r profiadau a gawson nhw tra yn y Weriniaeth Tsiec, yn teithio 204.85 cilomedr dros 10 diwrnod wrth fynd i mewn i 3 gwlad.  Da iawn i chi i gyd, cawsoch chi amser mor hwyliog.

Yna daethon ni at y gyntaf o lawer o Seremonïau Gowbrau Sgowtio.  Dw i'n aelod o banel Gwobrau ScoutsCymru.  Gofynnwyd i fi gyflwyno'r gwobrau gyda chymorth Megan Hine, ac roedd hon yn anrhydedd.  Roedd gen i'r swydd anhygoel o rannu manylion yr enwebeion ac enillwyr am bob un o'r wyth categori o wobrau.  Gan fod dyslecsia arnaf, roedd hon yn her fawr i fi ond un roeddwn i eisiau ei chyflawni.  Roedd hi wir yn fraint i allu bod yn rhan o gyflwyno'r set gyntaf o wobrau ScoutsCymru. O 'Wobr Gwirfoddolwr yr Ymddiriedolwyr' hyd at y 'Wobr Cyflawniad Oes' roedd pob yn enwebai yn haeddu gwobr.  Yn bersonol roeddwn i'n ei chael hi'n llethol i  glywed yr hyn sy wedi bod yn digwydd yn Sgowtio y tu ôl i'r llenni megis Peter Rowlands, Grŵp Sgowtiaid 1af Aberhonddu, yn ymroddi 70 mlynedd i Sgowtio; David Jenkins, Sir Benfro, sydd wedi bod yn aelod Ymddiriedolwr am dros 25 mlynedd gan weithio'n ddiflino yn ei rôl ac fel aelod o Dîm Ardal Llangollen ac yn cael ei ddisgrifio'n wirioneddol ymroddedig ac ysbrydoledig i Sgowtio yn Llangollen.

Hoffwn i longyfarch pawb a dderbyniodd wobr ac i'r rhai gafodd enwebiad.  Hoffwn hefyd ddiolch i Megan Hine eto am fy helpu gyda chyflwyno'r gwobrau.  Edrychaf ymlaen at fod ar banel gwobrau ScoutsCymru am y flwyddyn nesaf ac dw i'n edrych ymlaen at yr enwebiadau i gyd.
