Target archery is an Olympic sport which Scouts of all ages can take part in. It is run to the standards of Archery GB, the National Governing Body, however Scouting adds one extra rule which bans shooting at ‘images of animals’.

Archery for Scouts can be run as:-

a. Taster sessions

b. Used to gain the Master at Arms Badge

c. Used to show improvement in sport as part of the D of E award

Many Scout Camp Sites have archery ranges and some Scout HQ’s are suitable to set up a temporary range. Temporary ranges can also be set up in large open fields.
