Jake Myatt - Area Commissioner - Clwyd

Jake has been in Scouting since he was 8 years old, since turning 18 he has held several roles including assistant Scout Leader, assistant Group Scout Leader and Wales trustee. Jake works in an accountancy practice and is training to become an accountant.

 

Linda Wilson - Area Commissioner - Pembrokeshire

Linda was 'born' into Scouting and grew up with both parents involved. She took a short break whilst employed as a youth worker, but have been a Cub Leader in Pembrokeshire for 28 years. She was unusual in that her children got involved because she was and not the other way round!

Linda and her husband and I have a shop in Haverfordwest offering gifts and Welsh souvenirs. She enjoys gardening, doing crafts and walking the dog.

Tony Hodge - Area Commissioner - Brecknock

Tony started in Scouting as a Cub, Scout and Venture Scout before becoming a Leader at 1st Caehopkin Scouts. Due to a career in the Energy Sector around the world his connection with Scouting lapsed for 33years before returning as Chairman at his old Group in 2013.

Since then Tony has helped out on District, Area and Appointment Committees.

Tony now works as a Geologist/Geophysicist at his home and spends too many hours in front of computer screens. Scouting provides a great opportunity to get some air and solve other challenges.

 

Margaret Hopkin - Area Commissioner - Mid Glamorgan

Margaret joined Scouting in 1973 when she took my son along to join the local Cub Scout Pack.  She took over as Akela of the same Pack six months later and has not looked back since.  She has held a variety of appointments over the years including many District and Area roles.

She was born in London, mainly educated in Cardiff and joined the Civil Service on leaving school. Margaret enjoys all kinds of craft.

 

Steve Evans - Area Commissioner - Cardiff and Vale

Steve started Scouting as a Beaver in 1st Pentwyn Scout Group in Cardiff, he went through all the sections, and continued at Brave Dragons Explorer Unit. He has held numerous roles including Explorer Leader, Scout Leader and a variety of Area roles. Info about your background outside

After leaving school Steve spent nine years in the Army specialising in I.T. and communications. Currently he is working for an IT consultancy firm specialising in project management and IT improvement.

 

Chris Davy - Area Commissioner - Gwent

Chris joined Scouting in 1996 as Secretary for 1st Usk Scout Group. Since that time she has held a range of roles progressing from Scout Leader to Group Scout Leader to Assistant District Commissioner Scouts to District Commissioner for Monmouthshire.  She became Area Commissioner in 2016.

Chris worked in Human Resources until 2011 when she took early retirement.  Her hobbies are quite diverse and include geocaching, flower arranging and family research.
